Welcome in

Gennifer Millington
Barre

Gen believes a healthy lifestyle is so much more than just moving your body and eating right. It is about finding joy in movement and feeding the mind, body, and soul. Combining personal insight, precise teachings, and most likely humor, she hopes you walk out of her classes feeling better than you did when you arrived.

  • Her love of fitness began in college and has become an integral part of her life. She has been teaching since 2017 and teaches barre, TRX, indoor cycling, and yoga. She graduated from Om’s teacher training with her 200HR RYT in March 2023.

    Outside of teaching, you will find her hiking, lifting weights, baking, or focusing on her succulent business. She is also passionate about the environment and serves on the Monterey County Surfrider board.

Josselyn Allyssa
Barre

Josselyn views physical movement as a portal to the present where all untapped potential lies. She believes that by dropping into the body and deeply connecting with it, we can unlock new levels of consciousness and truly experience the lucidity of the now.

  • With daily lives that siphon our attention outwards, she strives to create a space to help you go inwards, exploring the untapped magic of our internal landscape we spend so much time unaware of. She views movement as a potent form of energy work, and her passion is to guide you into greater awareness of how to activate, shift, and lift your life-force energy.

    She is a certified Om barre teacher and completed her 200 hour yoga training through the Om YTT as well.

Naomi Lear
Barre

Naomi’s passion for holistic health and movement drew her to Om Studios after moving to Monterey from Switzerland in 2021. Inspired by the studio’s community, she received her Barre Certification and 200hr Yoga Teacher Training through Om and began teaching in 2022.

  • Her full-body barre repertoire incorporates dynamic, fiery movements and isometrics to build functional strength. By combining energetic instruction and fun beats, she crafts empowering and challenging classes for all levels. Outside the studio she finds peace in movement and meditation as an avid hiker, artist, and certified California Naturalist. Join her for a class and leave feeling joyful, strong, and revitalized.

Hannah Longergan
Barre + Yoga

Hannah received her 200hr RYT training at Om Studios in 2019. Her at- home-practice quickly turned into a true passion, which she plans to turn into a thriving business one day. Om, along with her amazing mentors Lynn and Kiara, created a space for cultivation, healing and a deep love for yoga.

  • Hannah finds joy in encouraging health and strong themes of self-love into each of her warming vinyasa classes. Using feel-good music, Hannah combines heat and dynamic movement through asana to each class. She believes by building strength and igniting the breath, you are able to sink deeper into the body and then the mind. Adding to her passion for health, Hannah loves Ayurveda, in which she is continuing her education at Maharishi University and working locally to learn the techniques for traditional Ayurvedic cooking. Her awareness in movement carries off the mat, with experience in weight-lifting, strength & conditioning training as well as hiking-a happy body is one that is both strong and fluid.Hannah believes we have the power to create health from the inside out through yoga and that's soul work.

Jordan Rossow *Studio manager
Barre + Yoga + Pilates

Jordan has always loved movement and has credited it to be a powerful medicine. Born and raised in Monterey, Jordan began teaching barre in 2017 after being a student for over two years. She has a fun twist on the classical ballet form to make it the class doable for all ages, and get a killer workout to strengthen all muscle groups for a long and lean physique.

  • She received her 200hr yoga training while traveling in Bali in 2019 learning Eastern philosophy and experimenting with all limbs of the yogic life. She completed her 300 hour training with Indra Yoga Institute in 2020 and has worked with her teacher with a large emphasis on trauma informed principles.

    In addition, she has completed her comprehensive Pilates training and guides us through a well rounded relaxing yet challenging Pilates repertoire. The combination of all of these modalities makes Jordan’s classes very unique and empowering to find growth in your day to day practices.

    She is also a certified nutrition health coach from Institute for Integrative Nutrition with a passion for holistic health to heal her clients and does energetic bodywork.

Kelsey Jo Holsten
Barre

Kelsey Jo is a certified barre instructor from the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association (IBBFA). She made  her way out to Monterey Bay from Toledo, Ohio where she found her true passion for fitness and the desire to grow as a person.

  • Kelsey Jo graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University majoring in PGA Golf Management and is currently taking continuing education classes at Stanford to work towards her aspirations of becoming a broadcast journalist. Aside from teaching barre, Kelsey Jo is a PGA Golf Professional at Pebble Beach Golf Links. She is certified in TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) where she measures the physical limitations of the body. Reaching towards the next step and awareness are two major areas of focus of hers. Inside and outside the classroom, she is known for smiling and keeping a positive attitude. You will always find Kelsey Jo going the extra mile and motivating her students to set new limits and goals for themselves. Attend a class and leave feeling inspired, confident and strong!

Margy Spector
Pilates

Margy has been practicing and teaching Pilates for 20 years. She received her full certification/Comprehensive Certification through Balance Body in 2013. Margy did her training with Balance Body both with Center of Balance in Mountain View and Agile Monkey in Santa Cruz.

  • After having several sports injuries, Margy found Pilates in 2004 through a friend who introduced her to a Pilates class. After only a few classes, she was hooked. After beginning her training, Margy was faced with having a bilateral knee replacement which was a big obstacle to overcome so her training had to take a hiatus for a few months. Margy soon discovered after her surgery, that her Pilates practice and training helped her recover from her injuries and surgery and gave a better understanding on the benefits of Pilates. Margy began to realize the importance of connecting the body and mind together and experiencing not only becoming stronger but also how it helped in balance, posture and flexibility. In 2010 Margy opened her own studio Creative Bodies in Gilroy and passed down her own experience to other clients especially those who had their own movement limitation. In 2020, Margy had to close down her studio in Gilroy due to the Covid pandemic. Shortly after her closing, her and her husband decided to relocate to the Monterey Bar Area.

    In addition to her Pilates training, she also has been trained in the Pilates Franklin Method which is a practice to help release tightness and tension in the body along with Fascia release by using props such as bands, rollers, balls, etc. With her extensive training Margy designs her classes to meet the clients needs. She is dedicated to her teaching due to her passion for movement. Margy teaches her clients that “a body in motion, stays in motion especially as we age”. It is gratifying to not only see clients improve the way they move, but also improve their health to live a more fulfilling life.

Amanda DeSalavo
Pilates

Amanda was introduced to Pilates as a rehab tool about twenty years ago while working with college athletes as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). In 2009, she had the opportunity to start practicing on the reformer, and it was love at first class.

  • She loved the mind-body connection and the ability for each individual to work to their potential in the same class. Amanda became certified through Balanced Body in 2011 and has been teaching Pilates ever since. Amanda brings a contemporary flair to every class and loves to incorporate different fitness genres.

    Amanda always reminds her students, “We don’t do Pilates to get better at Pilates. We do Pilates to get better at life.” The most rewarding part of teaching is hearing how student’s mobility, balance, strength, and lives improve with regular Pilates practice. She has a passion to push students to their edge and learn to trust their bodies and especially loves to watch students progress from beginners to seasoned Pilates practitioners.

Lindsay Wetterau * Studio Owner
Pilates + Yoga

Lindsay is a passionate advocate of the complimenting disciplines of Pilates and yoga. Her classes combine the focus, breath and mindset of yoga while maintaining the detail of Pilates instruction.

  • She is dedicated to sharing the joy, challenges and rewards of deep conscious movement with her students. Lindsay is a certified Balanced Body Pilates instructor and completed her 500hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2010. She also leads active breath work group and private sessions.

Hanna Almuti

Hanna loves how yoga encourages curiosity about all parts of ourselves, fostering a non-judgmental awareness and a deeper connection with our body’s innate wisdom. She believes that when yoga flows through us, it reveals the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of our being—sometimes blending them together in a beautiful dance.

  • In her classes, Hanna creates a space where every part of you is welcome. Each pose she suggests is an opportunity for you to make choices based on what your body needs in that moment. By making choices from this authentic place, you cultivate true self-trust, allowing you to live more genuinely both on and off the mat.

    Hanna’s teaching style invites creative expression and heightens present-moment awareness. She integrates breathwork, meditation, asana, and somatic movement to offer a unique yoga experience. She is dedicated to supporting her students and holding a safe space where they can be guided by their hearts in their practice.

    Yoga has been a profound source of healing for Hanna, and she is honored to practice, teach, and learn alongside her students. She completed her 200-hour yoga training in 2021 and is currently pursuing her 300-hour training at Breathe Together Yoga in Los Gatos, CA.

Madi Steele
yoga

Madi, Austin Texas native, first stepped on a yoga mat at the age of 16, and the seed of yoga was planted. Madi moved to Monterey in 2019; she went on to pursue her 200hr yoga teacher training with Om Studios in 2020. In 2021, she apprenticed alongside her mentor, Lynn Cordell, during the 2021 YTT cohort (Om Studios).

  • Inspired to continue planting the seeds of yoga, Madi stepped into her teaching role, in 2023. Madi is passionate about facilitating a warm and welcoming space for all students at any level to feel safe and supported. She believes that time spent on the mat is an opportunity for self-inquiry, self-discovery, and ultimately self-acceptance.

Lynn Cordell *Lead teacher Trainer

Lynn encourages a curious heart and an inquiring mind in her classes. She is known for mixing her thoughtful class sequences, yoga philosophies and eclectic music delivering each class as a one-of-a-kind experience. Lynn blends alignment, anatomy, and energy in her cues so each student can find the shape of the poses that best suits the individual. Through the challenges in class, students can begin to see past their immediate reactions and uncover compassion for the self. Lynn encourages her students to listen to themselves and gracefully ride the ebbs and flow in life with a sense of humor and a light heart. 

  • Lynn has been teaching yoga since 2006. She loves an eclectic practice balancing the energy of hot, sweaty vinyasa flow with the grounding of a slow, cool yin class. Lynn has had the privilege of training and mentoring yoga teachers since 2011 and is honored to co-lead Teacher Training at Om Oasis.

Angel Lupo

Dream. Explore. Experience. Give. Receive. Grow. Follow your heart. Angel lives her life with passion, a feeling you’ll experience as soon as you meet her. Angel has been practicing and incorporating yoga philosophy in her life for over 7 years.

  • She graduated from Om Studios with her 200HR RYT certificate in 2019 and in 2021 received her 300 HR RYT. She is passionate about sharing the countless benefits yoga and meditation has to offer and providing a space for all to feel welcome and experience its benefits. She creates a safe space for students to practice at their own individual level so they may find themselves intuitively through their practice. Her classes are fun, creative, and anatomically sequenced with intentional themes emphasizing connecting the mind, body, and breath while letting go of tension and stress. She brings positivity and enthusiasm in all her classes. Angel will inspire you to move through your practice with grace and ease. Opening you up to the most unique expression of you and your best self. Her music selection helps transcend you into your practice so that it becomes a moving meditation. It is Angel's intention to inspire and challenge her students to explore a deep mindful practice they can carry with them off the mat and into their lives.

Gennica Cochran
yoga

Gennica Cochran, 500 HR RYT, began teaching yoga after attending Mount Madonna School of Yoga in 2010, where she was inspired by the teachings of Baba Hari Dass to live a life dedicated to service and self-study.

  • She has certification in Restorative, Prenatal, Classical Ashtanga (Raja) Yoga and completed the 500 HR Power, Precision + Mindfulness program with Jason Crandell in 2016.

    Gennica’s classes encourage students to explore their practice with intention by combining breath awareness and skillful movement while also drawing on her love of the earth and cosmos. Each class features threads of inspiration cultivated by the wisdom of the seasons and cycles of the moon, creating a greater understanding of the truth of who we are: powerful, connected, intuitive beings.

Sarah Butler
yoga

Sarah is a native to the Monterey Peninsula and a former professional ballet dancer with over 15 years in Classical and Contemporary Ballet. Throughout her career she has developed a deep understanding of the language and nature of the human body. Through that knowledge she wishes to bring support, love and light to the members of Om Studios.

  • "I am extremely passionate about the healing and liberation that yoga has to offer. The sequences I create are designed to establish a rooted connection to your divine power source with deep intentional breathing, to bring the mind back into the body. Together we will flow consciously through a clean and mindfully articulated yoga practice. My intention is to create a safe and fearless space so that my students may meet themselves as they are today, both on and off the mat. My desire is to support you as you carve through your practice and daily life filled with attention, intention, graceful ease, peace and posture. I am excited to join the team at Om Studios and honored to be a guide, a mirror and a witness to your progress and practice. Namaste."

Daisy Johnson

Daisy Johnson is a dedicated yoga practitioner and instructor, deeply committed to sharing the transformative power of yoga with others. She obtained her 200-hour certification at Center for Yoga in Ann Arbor, where she honed her skills and practiced free-flowing hot Vinyasa.

  • Motivated by a strong desire to make yoga accessible to all, Daisy went on to create a donation-based yoga program, providing affordable classes & ensuring that individuals from all walks of life could experience the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of yoga.

    Following her successful endeavor, Daisy expanded her teaching journey to the picturesque locales of Santa Barbara and Telluride, Colorado. There, she guided students through transformative practices that nourished both body and mind.

    Driven by her unwavering belief in the interconnectedness of the body and mind, Daisy relocated to Monterey to pursue a graduate program. Alongside her academic pursuits, she continues to share her expertise in yoga, inspiring others to embrace the virtues of the practice.

    With a genuine dedication to holistic well-being, Daisy firmly believes in the power of yoga as a catalyst for healing. She views the body and mind as interconnected entities, recognizing that when one is nurtured, the other flourishes. Through her teachings and personal journey, Daisy seeks to empower individuals to embark on their own path of self-discovery and transformation through the practice of yoga.

Dana Schwartz

When Dana discovered yoga after the birth of her third child, her world shifted from the constant state of doing to the appreciative state of being. As a teacher and student, yoga has informed every aspect of her life, allowing her to gain strength and awareness through equanimity.

  • Her flow classes are influenced by her background as a student of Iyengar and Ashtanga schools of thought. Dana teaches vinyasa, yin, restorative, as well as Iyengar Inspired classes, incorporating her years of study to create a safe environment for any practitioner to cultivate health and well-being. Her compassion, grace and humor lead students through the challenges of each class. It is her hope that every class affords students a chance to dive deeper into themselves, creating integration of mind, body, and spirit that will lead them to their own sense of greater equanimity. Dana has been practicing for over 22 years, teaching for over 17 years, and is a certified 600hr Hatha Yoga, and meditation teacher. In addition to teaching yoga, Dana is an author of fiction, writing under the name D. K. Silver. The Weight Of Flowers is the first book her four book series exploring where desire, dysfunction and courage intersect.

Brooke Russell

Combining tradition and personal flair, Brookes classes welcome you to explore the world of yoga through a unique lens. Her  journey began in 2014 with Ashtanga yoga, a practice that laid the foundation for her love of mindful movement.

  • While she values the discipline and structure of Ashtanga, she also finds joy in incorporating a touch of flow and creativity into her gentle teaching style, making it both challenging and playful.

    Beyond the yoga mat, she finds time for hiking, cooking and exploring all that life has to offer. Her yoga classes will leave you feeling calm and grounded so the rest of your day you are reminded to slow down.

Jacqueline Weixel
yoga

Jacqueline first dipped her toe into the world of yoga over 10 years ago, and has developed a deep love and appreciation for the practice over the years.

  • Though it was difficult to establish a regular practice with a community while living overseas for different chapters of her life, she continued to explore yoga in a variety of settings. She settled in to Monterey in 2018, and her practice and love of all that comes with it have fully blossomed since. She completed her 200HR Yoga Teacher Training with Om Studios in June, 2022 and started teaching shortly thereafter. Her goal is to make those who practice with her feel inspired, encouraged, empowered, and included as they foster gratitude, strength, compassion, and self-awareness on their yogic journey.

Rebekah Cordell yoga, Pilates

Rebekah's yoga journey began as a path to healing, inspired by her mother's encouragement to explore yoga for both physical and mental recovery from running and soccer injuries. Since 2006, Rebekah has been a devoted yoga practitioner, student, and teacher, embracing the dynamic nature of this transformative practice.

  • With a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification from Yoga Alliance through Kripalu in Massachusetts, Ayurvedic studies in Jaipur, India, and recent Pilates training with Balance Body, Rebekah brings a wealth of knowledge to her teaching. Her approach is compassionate, holistic, and inclusive of all levels.

    Rebekah's teaching philosophy centers on freeing ourselves from mindset barriers and limiting beliefs. She guides students to overcome mental blocks, disrupt repetitive thought patterns, and challenge outdated ways of thinking and being. By facilitating a deeper awareness of one's own possabilities Rebekah believes we can foster stronger self efficacy and compassion for one another.

    Passionate about the art of healing, Rebekah's teaching is driven by a desire to nurture our inner nature and promote stewardship of the outer world. She views yoga as a powerful tool for personal transformation and collective growth, emphasizing that disconnection is an illusion we create through our own narratives.

    Through her classes, Rebekah aims to empower students to rewrite their stories, and embrace their authentic, true selves.

Karolina Campbell Pilates

Originally Born in Poland, Karolina has spent her entire life in the fitness and movement industry. Starting her journey as a child in Capoeira, a Brazilian dancing martial art. 

  • Her official  studies took her  to The Academy of Physical Education where she received her University Degree.  She then worked full-time as a fitness instructor, leading classes in Body Combat, Body Balance,  Body Flow and more, as well as providing personal training to a full spectrum of clients.  

    After making her way to Santa Barbara via a year of living in Thailand, Karolina dove deep into training Aerial Arts which led her to study Pilates. Over the last 3 years Karolina has developed powerful and creative Pilates workouts to increase her students strength and form as well as deepen the mind-body connection.
