Enhance your understanding of the prenatal student in order to better accommodate her needs. Whether you are looking for a certification course to teach prenatal yoga, or are just looking to further your education, each intensive will cover a wide variety of topics including yoga poses and modifications, anatomy, pelvic health, pranayama, birth preparation, visualization, nutrition, optimal birth positioning, pain techniques for labor, group and community support and the postpartum period.
The Nine Moons training courses provide a unique and comprehensive approach, combining fundamental knowledge of anatomy and pregnancy with the beauty and depth of yoga philosophy, and holistic health.
It offers instruction that is grounded in both anatomy and classic yoga philosophy yet boasts ample childbirth education and group support. The result is a class is that offers the prenatal student not only birth preparation and relief through yoga, but also emotional and community support. Learn how to support an ideal pregnancy, delivery and postpartum.
Begin your prenatal yoga training here. We cover anatomy, asana, childbirth education, teacher development, group support, the culture of birth, meditations, pranayama, the pelvic floor during and after pregnancy, and more. Our training is stand-alone and although helpful, no prior yoga training is necessary.
Prerequisites for Yoga Alliance Registration
- The modules are designed as stand alone courses and can be taken in any order, however, you must complete both levels to qualify for Yoga Alliance registration.

Nine Moons Prenatal Yoga Teacher and Doula Training – Level 2

Go deeper into yoga and birth philosophy and how it aligns with the prenatal experience, and refine your understanding of targeted yoga therapy. This training is for teachers who are looking to further their education and those that are looking to register for Yoga Alliance. We also offer a module that combines yoga and doula training into one format.
This week long training goes deeper into the aspects of teaching presented in Module 1. It covers anatomy, asana, nutrition, holistic health, doula training, optimal birth positioning, targeted therapeutic asana, nutrition, ayurveda, and yoga philosophy. It is ideally taken after the level 1 training, but the modules can be taken in any order. You may also choose to attend only the doula portion, if desired.
The exact schedule and reading list is emailed upon registration, but plan on being in studio from about 9-5 every day. We offer several weeklong trainings throughout the year.
About Candice Garrett
Candice Garrett is an E-RYT with Yoga Alliance and a recognized teacher trainer, as well as the director and founder of Nine Moons Prenatal® Teacher Training programs. She specializes in yoga, prenatal yoga and pelvic health.
Candice is considered one of the top experts in her field on both prenatal yoga and female pelvic health and has been a guest specialist in several teacher trainings and events, including the Flagstaff Yoga Festival, Awakening the Female Pelvis Teacher Training, MANA, and the Hypnobirthing® Conclave.
She is the author of a book on prenatal yoga and a teacher for the LILY program at UCSF, a program studying the efficacy of yoga on improving continence.
Her studies are grounded in Iyengar yoga and influenced by Senior Iyengar teacher Kofi Busia and pelvic floor specialist Leslie Howard.
